She went on to publish 58 books between 1943 and 1983, many of her stories based on her own family. She also wrote under the pseudonyms of Janet Bell and Elizabeth Kinsey. Some of her titles include <em>Tiny Little House, My Brother Stevie<\/em>, and <em>The Horse in the Attic<\/em>.
