    Won­der­ful quote, Lynne. But, oh, so hard to achieve some days. I was a com­plete bas­ket case the two weeks between the insur­rec­tion (because that’s what it was) and the inau­gu­ra­tion. We are tired of being vic­tims. Now maybe we can imple­ment the words of that quote. P.S.: I love your column!

    Thanks, Can­dace, so glad you like the col­umn! And yes, it’s been hard to get away from paral­y­sis and just do our work, right? Cri­sis in our cities in the sum­mer, cri­sis in our Capi­tol this win­ter, and Covid on top of every­thing has made it a very tough year. But per­sis­tence, faith, and courage is still in style, and when we bring it to the table, it makes a dif­fer­ence both in our work and in the world.
